Christmas Fun!

We hope that all of our family and friends had a great Christmas! We enjoyed Makayla's 1st Christmas! We had a bunch of family things going on and it was nice to spend time with everyone. Makayla had a blast, she had lots of presents to open, and som of it we will be putting together up until her 1st birthday. Makayla would grab the wrapping paper and help open the presents. When she opened her little radio she didn't want anything to do with the other gifts. Here are some of the pictures that we have from Christmas. We cannot wait for next year, she will be even more fun.

Winter Fun!

Here is the latest! We have been very busy with the holidays coming just around the corner. Here are some of the latest pictures for you to enjoy! Makayla is getting bigger and bigger everyday. Mark got to play babysitter for a whole week while our baby sitter was off. We took swimming lessons, more like me and Makayla playing in the pool. She did not like the pool at first but by the end of the 7 weeks she loved it and didn't want to leave when our time was done. We have so much snow here, one day we took Makayla out in her sled and pulled her around. She absolutely loved it!
The latest for Makayla is that she is now sitting up and pushes her self back up all by her self. She is eating foods and loves all of them. When she sees the food coming she has her mouth open so wide and kicking her feet while waiting for her food. Makayla is trying so hard to start crawling. She is getting her knees under her and rocking back and forth all the time. She still doesn't know what to do with her hands, especially when there is a toy in one hand. Makayla is constantly chewing and sucking on her toys. We keep thinking that there is a tooth coming through, but nothing has come through yet. Christmas is just around the and I cannot wait to she all the fun Makayla is going to have with the paper instead of the toys. I will post some Christmas pictures soon. Enjoy these pictures!

Going to the Dogs!

The past few weeks Makayla has really started to notice the dogs (Zeke & Zoie). When ever they come around she gets all excited and starts making noises and starts laughing at them. They are not really doing anything but maybe chewing on their bones and she thinks this is the funniest thing. We have the dogs come by us so that she is not afraid of them and she has recently started to grab for them. She loves to especially pet Zeke because he has the long fur, she even tries to eat him! The other night Makayla was watching the dogs and she was trying to reach down for Zeke. I set her on the floor and she reached out and was hugging Zeke. It was so cute! Makayla is getting so fun and she is changing daily! I just had to share this with everyone and the picture is so cute. Enjoy!

Halloween

We had a blast this Halloween! It was Makayla's 1st Halloween and we went to our friends Kyle and Alissa's neighborhood. We dressed the kids up and took them out only to the houses that we knew to say hi. It was amazing how many kids were out and the costumes that they were all dressed in. Makayla got 2 pieces of candy, of course she cannot eat it, so I am sure that we will help her out. Makayla had fun just looking around at all of the kids. Enjoy the pictures!

Long Awaited Update!

Hello everyone!

Here is the lastest update with our family! Makayla is now almost 5 months old, I know, where did the time go. At her 4 month check up she was 13.9# and 25 " long. She is getting so big. Everyday she is doing something new. She has now discovered her toes and loves to pull them up to her mouth, they must taste good. She loves to play in her jumper and chew on the toys that are connected to it. She is now talking and telling us stories all the time and smiles constantly. We are enjoying these last nice fall days by taking walks. She loves to go for walks in her stroller. Makayla is now eating cereal, fruits and vegetables. She is grabbing for the spoon while I am trying to feed her and tries to talk while there is food in her mouth. She loves to make a mess of her food. We have been enjoying every minute that we have with her and enjoy the pictures there will be more to come!

Here is Makayla sitting so big in her chair!

Pumpkin Time!

It is fall and a couple weekends ago we went to the pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins. Here are just a few pictures that we took. We plan to go there every year, there is so much for kids to do and animals to pet and things to play on. Next year Makayla will have more fun because she will be moving around more. Enjoy the pictures, I will be putting Halloween pictures up when the times comes!

Here is Makayla riding with the pumpkins while dad pulled her!

I tryed to get a cute picture of Makayla sitting by a pumpkin, but she kept falling over and this is the best one that I got. The pumpkin is about the size of her!

Summer

It has been a while since I have been on and we have been very busy. Summer is almost over and we have been lucky to so so many things. The past couple weeks we have been to Silver Lake, Lansing to visit with all of Mark's family and to Traverse City to go camping. I was really nice to be able to see and visit with Mark's family, Makayla enjoyed swimming in the pool, and seeing all of her cousins. We made a trip up to Traverse City for our annual camping trip and that was a little bit hard at some times. Makayla didn't sleep the greatest at nap time and then woud fight to stay awake in the evenings instead of sleeping, but she would sleep great through out the nights. So atleast we got our sleep. We got to go to the beach, to Boone's for dinner and did a little wine tasting. Most of the time we just relaxed. It was really nice to get away, but by Saturday night Makayla was ready to come home and be in her own bed (so were we).

I have spent the past week in my classroom getting it set up for the kids to start school. I have to report on the 25th for professional development and then the students come after Labor day. Makayla has also come in with me to set up my room, she tired to help but she just wanted to play instead. I am excited to start back to work, but also sad because I will miss my time with Makayla.

Makayla is now 3 months old, and is getting bigger and bigger everyday. She is smiling more and talking a lot which is so fun to hear. She has now found her thumb in the past couple weeks and sucks it until she falls alseep and then it comes out of her mouth. She love to have her bear blanket with her and she sucks on that too. We had her 3 month pictures done this Saturday and that was a lot of work and she was so tired afterwards. We weren't sure how they were going to turn out while we were waiting for them because she wasn't smiling that much, but they turned out really cute! The hardest decision was to pick the out. Below are some current pictures and when I get her 3 month pictures back. Enjoy!

Makayla is 2 months!

I cannot believe that Makayla is 2 months already! We had her 2 month check up and she is now 11 pounds and 3 ounces and 22 1/4 inches or at least she was on the 23rd of July! She also had 5 shots, and I had tears in my eyes and she screamed like I have never heard her scream before. The next few days were hard she was very fussy and was not sleeping like she would through the night. Now we have our happy little girl back and we are happy. She is smiling more and more every day, it is just amazing to see how much she has already changed in 2 months, the smiling, laughing and cooingis so fun to watch and hear. She is becoming more and more aware of her hands and she is starting to rub her eyes when she is tired.

Taking a swim at grandma's house, not sure whats going on, but this is fun!

Swimming takes a lot of work, now I need a nap!

Family

Hi Everyone!

I have created this blog site for all of our family and friends to view so that you can keep up on what we are doing and how Makayla is growing! I will keep up with this and post new pictures for you to see and feel free to post any comments.

So far we have had a busy summer and Makayla has done a lot in the short time that she has been alive. We still have a few things left to do this summer before I go back to work. I cannot believe that I have been off since the beginning of May and in about 4 weeks I have to leave Makayla and go back to work. I have enjoyed the time have I have been able to spend with her.
